Kaitano Starts School!

We were introduced to Kaitano in 2024 when an Agape Youth Club leader asked for help because Kaitano is blind. Kaitano was taken for medical assessment and sadly we were advised that his blindness was irreversible. Arrangements were made for him to attend a school for the blind where he can learn necessary life skills. After registering Kaitano in this residential school for blind children, we were able to form a partnership with the school to start an Agape Youth Club for the 16 children who live there. The villagers heard about the new Agape Youth Club and requested that their children could attend. We are amazed at the way God opens doors!

AGAPE PRESCHOOL GRADUATION

There were 19 students who graduated on Friday, July 25. The graduation was also attended by the parents to celebrate their children’s progress. In addition, there was a special visitor who had come previously to give free haircuts. This time, he came with his friends and brought nsima, soya and cooking oil.

AGAPE YOUTH CLUBS

MALAWI AYC’s - Paul James, Country Director

There are currently over 50 Agape Youth Clubs in Malawi, with an overall attendance of over 10,000 children and young adults each week. The number is an indication of the grace of God at work with the leaders and the increased needs of the youth of Malawi. More and more are being aided to finish high school with scholarships. In addition, there is a wonderful partnership with a chief in the area where the Kankhwani AYC meets, in which the chief has designated land for Agape House to build toilets and a pavilion for the use of the youth attending the club! We thank God for the opportunity but also pray for the grace to complete the project, which will affect not only the youth in the area but the region as a whole.

GUINEA AYC's - Jacob Traore, Country Director

There are 3 clubs in Guinea; the areas are Dubreka, Gueckedou, and Djoumeya. More and more children are coming to youth activities. There aresports, dancing and games. During the rainy season, it is difficult to meet outside. However, even though it is rainy, children still come out to meet and recite the Scriptures as well as engage in activities! There is also an increase in the young adult group, in which more are learning Scriptures and excited to recite the verses.

SIERRA LEONE AYC - Emmanuel Akintola, Country Director

There is one youth club in Maneki, but the focus is on being in an area for at least two weeks and reaching out to the communities. Because of the rainy season, many activities are held indoors in one of the schools. However, there is a wonderful outreach to the Muslim community, and both Muslim and Christian children sit together and have meals together! This is important, especially for the vulnerable children. Some of the children are giving their lives to Christ! We are serving 69 students in the school, which is a number that is increasing from the time the club started.
